"WHINERY BIBLE RECORD
This Bible was picked up at a sale by William J. Mcintosh of Clinton, Ohio. He gives the short sketch of the Whinery family not found in the Bible: DR. JOHN CARROLL WHINERY was the son of James Whinery and Sarah or Nancy Car­roll and the grandson of Robert Whinery, who with his brother Patrick came to the U.S. from Ireland. Dr. John's wife Harriet Burson, was the daughter of David Burson, born ca 1822 in Columbiana County, Ohio, died 1865 in Iowa, and his wife Elizabeth Bennet born 1830 in Ohio. David Burson was the son of James Burson, born 2-4-1779 in Bucks Co., Pa., came to Columbiana Co., 0. in 1802 and in 3-11-1807 married there Elizabeth Myers, daughter of Wm. Myers of Lou­don Co., Va. Elizabeth was the mother of David Burson. James Burson was the son of Edward Burson born 9-20-1756 in Bucks Co., Pa. & Elizabeth Blackledge. Edward Burson moved from Bucks Co., Pa. in 1781 to Greene Co.,Pa. where he died in 1841.
